About the Head Mounted Tablet (HMT) device

The RealWear HMT-1™ that is being used within the West Mercia Rural 5G project provides the foundation for our Connected Worker trials between the Care Homes and their residents and the District Nurses and GPs.

The fully rugged head-mounted device can be used within various clinical and industrial environments.

The high-resolution micro display (eye piece) fits just below your line of sight and views like a 7” tablet. It’s a dashboard; there when you need it and out of your way when you don’t.

The HMT-1 works with many software applications. Each is optimized for completely hands-free voice control.

For the purpose of the West Mercia Rural 5G trial the only software that is being used is Microsoft Teams which will be used for remote warding video calls and enables the wearer to share video of what they are looking at, use simple voice commands to instruct the device as well as freeing up both hands.

The headset consists of:

an eye piece,
headband / head strap
body
camera
speakers
connectivity ports
volume control
power switch
